Post Its Not Nolimits, Its Scream Machines

I found this one via a link on Wee Wee Slap, check it out because I think its worth while digging out the copy of scream machines just to have ago at this feature.

If you look around, you will probably find some anaglyph 3D glasses laying around the house... you know, those weird paper glasses with one red eye and one blue eye. Maybe you got them at the movies this year or last year with the release of Spy Kids 3D Game Over and Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D. or you got a few pairs when you bought or rented the DVD. Here I'll tell you what you have to do to watch Scream Machines in 3D! now GO GRAB THEM!

Got them? good! now read on...

First, what you need:

First of all, you need an Nvidia card (compatible cards are TNT, TNT2, Geforce, GeForce 256, Geforce 2, Geforce 3, Geforce MX400, Geforce 4, Geforce FX 5xxx,6xxx,7XXX, Quadro and Quadro2)

Now, you'll need the latest driver (make sure you have the latest one at You must be registered to view this link)

AND finally the 3D Stereo Drivers (also at You must be registered to view this link Go into download drivers, then choose Consumer 3D Stereo / All Graphics cards / And then choose WinXP/NT/200 or Windows 98/ME version)

once you have all installed, make sure you reboot the machine or the stereo drivers won't "take".

Now, if you are familiar with the registry editor, go and open it (start/run.../regedit.exe)
Look for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D

once you found it, you'll need to modify two strings:

look for AnaglyphEnabled , double click on it and change the hexadecimal value to "1" (no quotes)
then look for ShowAllViewerTypes , double click on it and change the hexadecimal value to "1" (no quotes)

now you can close the registry.

Now go into the display Control panel (start/control panel/display or right-click on desktop/preferences)
go to Settings tab, then click on the "advanded" button.
Get into your video card settings tab and then select the stereo properties section; once there make sure the stereo type is set to Anaglyph (red/blue Glasses).
then, also make sure "stereo enable mode" is set to "Enabled by Hotkey"

you can now apply/ok/exit

that's it! that's all you have to do.

NOW OPEN SCREAM MACHINES.

once you are in the game hit Crtl-T and you'll notice the game stutter for a second or two and the scream will become "double" with all things with a red/blue halo all around. NOW PUT YOUR GLASSES ON!
That's it! Scream Machines is now in Stereo mode!!

You can play with the stereo settings in the control panel for your video card (start/control panel/ display)
once you open the control panel you'll notice that in the Advanced section you'll find some new stereo settings... play around.. specially to set up your own hot keys and stuff.

If everything went well, you should see Scream Machines looks like this:

NOTE: The Stereo 3D Function is NOT rendered by SM itself, but it relies on an Nvidia driver, so do all this changes and use it at your own risk. 3D stereo is NOT supported by Wounded-heart, it is supported through a 3rd party driver (Nvidia); but feel free to ask questions if you have any

PS. If you dont have the glasses needed for 3D stereo you can get them at You must be registered to view this link (buy more glasses) they sell a 4-pack for a nominal fee of $2.99 (includes shipping) I have bought a few pairs from them and they were pretty quick to ship. also, if I'm not wrong, you can also use the glasses that comes with the november 21st issue of TV Guide (the glasses for "Medium 3D") sold in stores.
I hope you like this. Let us know what you think!

Dario.
